Grounded Espresso Gets New Signage For Its Firdale Location in Edmonds

The coffee stand, under new ownership, was previously known as Carmen's Latte.

Edmonds’ newest coffee shop is one that’s been around for a while and is a familiar site for those traveling through Firdale Village.

Owner Julie Tobiassen recently unveiled the new signage for , which had retained the name of its previous owner, Carmen’s Latte, for several months.

The name was submitted by a patron as part of a contest in October.

Grounded Espresso uses beans from Sumner-based Dillanos Coffee Roasters, which Roast Magazine named roaster of the year for 2011.

Among Grounded Espresso’s hot drinks are lattes, mochas, Americanos, breves, cappuccinos, mochas, white chocolate mochas, chai tea, hot chocolate and specialty espressos.

Grounded also makes cold coffee drinks, as well as Italian soda and Red Bull Italian soda. Blended drinks include frappe, youguccino, fruit smoothies and orange creamsicle.

Grounded Espresso also serves food, including a breakfast burrito, sausage sandwich, bagels, muffins, cookies and a marshmallow treat.
