Edmonds Brewery Selected for Nation's Premier Beer and Food Festival

American Brewing Company will be represented in Washington, D.C., in June. Owner Neil Fallon will attend reception on Capitol Hill.

Congrats to Edmonds' own , chosen to participate in SAVOR, billed as the nation’s premier beer and food pairing event. This year’s event is June 8-9 at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.

According to the Brewers Association, a spot at SAVOR can be a brewer's ticket to the big time, earning it visibility and a cult following. Sixty out of 160 brewereies entered a lottery system in a chance to pour their beer at the fifth edition of SAVOR.

The selected breweries are evenly distributed among eight geographic regions.

“What an incredible opportunity,” says American Brewing owner Neil Fallon. “We will be one of 74 of the nation’s top independent craft breweries participating in an event where beer and food enthusiasts can interact directly with the brewers or brewery owners. To be pouring our beer alongside some of the finest craft breweries in the country is quite an honor.”

The menu pairing for the American Brewing Company will be:

Breakaway IPA: Citrus cured salmon, grapefruit, pistachio cream cheese
Caboose Oatmeal Stout: Coconut macaroon, whipped crème fraiche, lemon zest

In addition, Fallon will be arriving a day early to participate in a Government Affairs Hill Climb and then attend an American Craft Beer/Brewers Association Reception on Capitol Hill.

This will be followed by a reception on Capitol Hill which is a broader effort by the Brewers Association to raise the profile of small brewers among Members of Congress and their staff. “I think there is a great deal of value in personally engaging with these officials,” says Fallon.

He will also be pouring American Brewing Company’s beer at this event which typically has an attendance of around 700-800 people.
