Dick Spady Pays a Visit to Dick's in Edmonds to See the New Signs

The popular Northwest icon, the first in Puget Sound, could be open by the end of next month. Next up: South Sound and the Eastside.

The finished signs were in place on Thursday at in Edmonds, and the founder of the iconic Northwest hamburger chain couldn't have been happier.

"It's coming along," said Dick Spady, whose first restaurant opened in 1954 in Wallingford. "It looks good."

Dick Spady was on hand with his two sons, Jim and Walt, to in Edmonds. Jim is vice president, and Walt is vice president and chief financial officer.

Jim Spady said Dick's will certainly be open before Thanksgiving, but also said there is a chance it will be open before the end of October.

Spady also mentioned that, although Dick's is concentrating on the Edmonds opening, the next Dick's locations will be in the South Sound and the Eastside.

Edmonds was chosen as the location after the north Puget Sound area won in an online poll conducted by the restaurant.

The location is in the Top Food parking lot on Highway 99 and 220th Street SW.
