Edmonds' Walnut Street Coffee Included in New Book on Java Joints

From "Eclectic Coffee Spots in Puget Sound": Sitting outside in one of Walnut Street Coffee's poppy red chairs under its whimsical coffee cup sign is a great antidote to a cloudy day.

In a move that may come as no surprise to its many devoted patrons, Edmonds' Walnut Street Coffee is included in a new book called Eclectic Coffee Spots in Puget Sound.

Iin the book, Tacoma’s Marsha Glazière attempts to capture the ambience, architectural character, motifs, furnishings, curb appeal, and distinguishing personality of 120 coffee shops. Her new book features 41 paintings of those that inspire her most, in addition to text, photos, maps and recipes.

Here's what Glaziere writes about Walnut Street Coffee:

WALNUT STREET COFFEE, 410 Walnut St., Edmonds

Walnut Street Coffee is located slightly off the beaten path of charming, downtown shops on the main drag in Edmonds, which is not too far from the Kingston ferry dock. Housed in a one story building, Walnut Street Coffee was originally a separate residential garage, then a boat repair shop, and most recently a flower shop.

Owner Pam Stuller transformed it into a comfortable cheery spot where locals love to hang out with their friends and kids and enjoy Espresso Vivace coffee along with baked goods from Sisters Baking Company of Lynnwood.

The rotating display of innovative artwork on the walls, the contemporary furnishings and light coming through the glass-paneled garage doors all contribute to a friendly environment. Sitting outside in one of Walnut Street Coffee’s poppy red chairs under its whimsical coffee cup sign is a great antidote to a cloudy day.
