Earlier in the day, the children's parade begins at 11:30 a.m. downtown.

The main parade begins at noon downtown, with Iditarod veteran and Edmonds native Jan Steves the grand marshal.

American flags will adorn the streets of downtown Edmonds as nearly 10,000 spectators line the streets for a two-hour march through the heart of Edmonds.

The parade features award-winning marching bands, local celebrities, street performers, floats and even a few politicians waving from convertibles.

And the annual Edmonds Fourth of July Waterball Competition begins at 2:30 p.m. at City Park. It's hosted by volunteer firefighters from Snohomish County Fire District 1, which serves Edmonds.
