It's About Them, Not You: Speaker Will Focus on Customers at Workshop

Snohomish County resident Andrew Ballard is the guest at the 425 Launch meeting Wednesday in Edmonds.

The next meeting of 425 Launch, developed by the Economic Development Committee of the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, is Wednesday and will feature guest speaker Andrew Ballard.

Ballard, who lives in Mill Creek and is adjunct faculty member at Everett Community College, will talk about the voice of the customer as a way to grow a business.

Ballard is the author of a book called Your Opinion Doesn’t Matter: It's Your Customer's Opinion That Counts. He has also published numerous articles and has led training sessions to thousands of business professionals nationwide.

Wednesday’s meeting, at Edmonds City Hall, is described as for those who have an entrepreneurial spirit, are about to start a new business or have already started one.

According to the chamber, 425 Launch seeks to strengthen the community by promoting and fostering entrepreneurship. “By providing a forum for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and experiences, we can improve communication and strengthen entrepreneurship in the community,” said Ailsa Kellam, the chamber’s business and communications manager.

Future discussions will take place with other entrepreneurs from the community and will also include panel discussions about subjects of interest for entrepreneurs, including navigating business licensing issues, funding possibilities, cash flow, social networking, technology, marketing and other issues determined by the group.

425 Launch will be held Wednesday at 5:30 in the Bracket Room of City Hall, 121 Fifth Ave. N, Edmonds. For more information, e-mail the chamber.
