It’s time to shine a spotlight on your favorite arts heroes—those volunteers and business leaders who support programs in the visual, performing and literary arts.
To find those who work and collaborate behind the scenes of Edmonds’ arts and cultural programs, the Edmonds Chamber is asking residents to nominate their favorite arts heroes for the new Edmonds Chamber Arts Awards.
Residency or location in Edmonds is not required as long as the contribution is to the Edmonds community. Active members of the Chamber Arts and Culture selection committee are not eligible for individual awards.
Nominations are due by Feb. 14 for a ceremony honoring the winners March 23 at the Edmonds Conference Center, just after the monthly Edmonds Third Thursday Art Walk.
The awards program celebrates outstanding and exemplaryc ontributions to arts and culture in the Edmonds community made by businesses, organizations, and individuals.
Awards will be made in four categories:
- Business leadership—significant impact through various means of support.
- Individual leadership—exceptional leadership to foster partnerships between arts and culture and business.
- Creative collaboration—partnerships in support of specific local arts and culture programs or projects.
- Individual volunteer service—significant volunteer service to the arts and culture community.
Visit the Chamber Web site for descriptions of each category and an online nomination form to nominate your favorite partners and volunteers. Hard copies are also available at the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce office at 121 Fifth Ave. N.
