More than 60 classic and custom cars and motorcycles were entered in the show, which took place Aug. 17 at Machinists Union District Lodge 751‘s Everett Union Hall. Awards were presented in 18 categories, while volunteers grilled hot food and the local band Sir Realprovided live music.
The annual event is hosted by Machinists Union Local Lodge 751-A, which is affiliated with District 751.
“We had a great organizing committee that recruited sponsors, vendors and volunteers,” said Local 751-A President Wilson “Fergie” Ferguson. “I want to thank everyone who helped out for ensuring the event was a huge success.”
Guide Dogs of America is a California-based charity that provides service dogs and training in their use free of charge to people who are blind or have impaired vision from across the United States and Canada.
District 751 is the No. 1 fundraiser for Guide Dogs of America. Over the past four years, it’s raised more than $1 million for the charity, including a record $299,000 in 2012.
Originally formed in 1935 to represent hourly workers at the Boeing Co., District Lodge 751 of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers now represents some 33,000 working men and women at 49 employers across Washington, Oregon and California.
