Susan G. Komen Director—And Breast Cancer Survivor—Speaking in Edmonds

Cheryl Shaw will discuss the organization's fight to cure breast cancer and support its victims. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Cheryl Shaw, executive director of the Puget Sound Susan G. Komen Foundation Puget Sound chapter, will speak to members of Alderwood-Terrace Rotary at its meeting at Swedish/Edmonds Hospital in Edmonds at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, October 26.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Shaw will discuss Susan G. Komen's fight to cure breast cancer and support its victims. She joined the Puget Sound staff as executive director in June 2009 and was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2010.

Those interested in hearing Shaw are welcome to attend as guests. Breakfast is served between 7 and 7:30 a.m. and the meeting will finish by 8:30 a.m.

Members of Alderwood-Terrace Rotary represent many businesses around the community. They sponsor the Sharing Tree during the holidays at Alderwood Mall and perform a variety of community based service projects, including support of Clothes For Kids and Pathways for Women.
