Gene Juarez and Komen Bring Mammograms to Alderwood Mall Oct. 22

Gene Juarez Salons and Spas will host the EvergreenHealth Mammocoach at Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The salon and spa company, which has salons throughout the Puget Sound area, says on its website that it hopes to make it easy to take action and get screened for breast health.

EvergreenHealth's mobile coach offers 3-D mammography technology, just like what is offered the Breast Center at EvergreenHealth and exams are performed by certified radiologic technologists and the images are interpreted by board-certified radiologists, according to the health care provider.

Insurance is accepted, and free screening mammograms will available to low-income and uninsured individuals 40 years or older who qualify, according to Gene Juarez' website.

As a bonus, the salon and spa will enhance women's experiences with a relaxing mini hand treatment or foot soak, soothing cup of tea, and a special gift, according to the company website. Participants can also enter for a chance to win a $100 gift card to Gene Juarez.
