Learning From Nature

What nature has to tell us about leadership.

Now that the days are getting warmer, I’m getting up to Meadowdale Beach more frequently. I’m blessed to have such a beautiful place within walking distance. Not only does it provide a great spot for renewal and inspiration but an opportunity to get some exercise as I walk there. I’m a big believer that nature is a great teacher and provides lessons that can be applied to leadership. After all, the natural world has survived millions of years and is still providing sustenance to those of us on this planet. Lately I’ve been noticing a wonderful little message posted on the board next to the bridge over the river in the park. Each message is a sage bit of advice from nature. Today’s lesson was this:

Advice from a tree

Stand tall and proud

Be content with your natural beauty
