Watercolor Artist Bev Jozwiak to be Featured at Cole Gallery
Acclaimed artist, a native of Vancouver, WA, says painting is her "drug of choice." Her new show begins Saturday.
Watercolor artist Bev Jozwiak will be featured in a new show at beginning Saturday.
Jozwiak's skill as a painter has garnered her national acclaim as one of America's premier watercolorists. Featured in nine Best of Watercolor books including five times in the well-known Splash series, Jozwiak continues to be one of the most in-demand painters in America.
“Her subject matter leaps right off the hot-pressed paper she uses and into your soul,” said Cole Gallery owner Denise Cole. “Every deliberate stroke of her brush brings life and vibrancy that sweep you away into the moments she creates. Each color comes alive and seems almost fluid on the paper. Every stroke represents her joy and addiction to the art form.”
“I live to paint,” said Jozwiak, a native of Vancouver, WA, where she still lives. She graduated with a fine arts degree from Western Washington University in 1976. “It’s my high. It’s my drug of choice.”
Along with own painting, Jozwiak teaches art on a limited basis. Her classes at Cole Gallery fill up within a few weeks.
“I’ve known people who are selfish with their art like it’s a secret,” she said. “I don’t think you should stop someone from learning art.”
Jozwiak has only a few spots left for her September workshop to be held at the gallery.
Bev Jozwiak's new show will run from July 16 toAug. 17 at Cole Gallery, 107 Fifth Ave. S., Edmonds. Jozwiak will have a private opening at the gallery on Saturday night. Email info@colegallery.net for more information.
