VIEWFINDER: Edmonds Art Walk Makes Thursday Fun Again

Musicians, artists, food, wine. Downtown's once-a-month open house is a sensory treat.

This week’s edition of the Edmonds Third Thursday Art Walk was, as usual, an aural and visual feast of music and art. Dare we mention the food and wine?

The music was loud and wonderful. Singer-songwriter Dan Voetmann sported an assortment of guitars—and one ukulele—on the sidewalk in front of Saetia. He moved deftly through chord as admirers stop to listen.

Those Guys, which is actually a couple of guys and one female singer, dazzled strollers with their folksy tunes, turning more than a few heads with an aggressive version of KT Tunstall’s “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree.”

There was even music here and there that wasn’t on the official schedule. Inside, outside, it didn’t matter. Serendipity happens.

Technique broke out where it wasn’t advertised on the Art Walk guide. Scott Szloch, an artist and blacksmith, drew a crowd at Semantics Gallery.

Wine: C’est La Vie, Windermere and Arista all had it. Rick Steves’ joint had a few delectable sweets, perfect for waking the taste buds while perusing Chloe Wicks's delightful scenes of Salzburg.

It was a sensory treat.
