Summer Concerts: Edmonds Arts Commission’s Series Kicks Off July 30

The Edmonds Arts Commission for Summer Concerts in the Parks will kick off the series with Roberto the Magnificent, Tuesday, July 30.

The Edmonds Arts Commission for Summer Concerts in the Parks will present Roberto the Magnificent, Tuesday, July 30 in the Hazel Miller Plaza, Bill Anschell, Brent Jensen & Chris Symer on Thursday, Aug. 1 in the Hazel Miller Plaza and Around the Sound Community Band, Aug. 4 in City Park.

Captivating audiences for more than two decades, Roberto the Magnificent is recognized as one of the nation's most unique variety acts performing throughout the region. His performances are filled with comedic chatter, breathtaking visual stunts and lots of audience participation! Audiences love his wild comical antics, high-energy pace and amazing stunts. Roberto the Magnificent's Crazy Comedy Stunt Show is appealing to adults and children alike! The show begins at 12:00 pm in the Hazel Miller Plaza, located at 5th and Maple in downtown Edmonds. The Hazel Miller Concerts are generously sponsored by the Hazel Miller Foundation.

Bill Anschell Brent Jensen & Chris Symer – Thursday, August 1, 5:00 pm, in the Hazel Miller Plaza

Bill Anschell is a Jazz pianist and composer. His original compositions and piano work are prominently featured on Freelon's Grammy Award-nominated recording Shaking Free (Concord Records) and her CBS recordings Heritage and Listen. His compositions have appeared in film and television, including "The West Wing" and "The Wire." The show begins at 5:00 pm in the Hazel Miller Plaza, located at 5th and Maple in downtown Edmonds. The Hazel Miller Concerts are generously sponsored by the Hazel Miller Foundation.

Around the Sound Community Band - Sunday, August 4, 3:00 pm, in City Park

The Around the Sound Community Band is a non-profit organization with the goal of providing service to the community through their music. They have a wide musical repertoire that includes traditional band tunes, marches, pop tunes, movie and show tunes, new music, and more. Members of the band range in age from high school students to World War II veterans, all playing for the love of community and music! The show begins at 3:00pm in Edmonds City Park, located at 3rd and Pine in downtown Edmonds. Bring the family, lawn chairs or blanket and join us for some great music and family entertainment. In the event of rain, the concert will be cancelled at 2:30 pm. The Concerts in City Park are sponsored by Acura of Lynnwood and Lynnwood Honda.

Concerts are presented by the Edmonds Arts Commission on behalf of the Edmonds City Council and are accessible to persons with disabilities.
