Reduced Shakespeare Co. Zeros In on Sports for Edmonds Show

Three-man comedy troupe reduces large, complicated subjects into short, sharp comedies.

The Reduced Shakespeare Company's fast-paced sports satire The Complete World of Sports (abridged) will be featured at on Saturday.

Best known for their original The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), Reduced Shakespeare Company is a three-man comedy troupe that reduces large, complicated subjects into short, sharp comedies.

The “bad boys of abridgement” have created seven stage shows, two television specials, and numerous radio pieces, all of which have been performed, seen or heard around the world since 1981. They have played in venues such as the White House, Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center and many more.

Unveiled in 2010, The Complete World of Sports (abridged) reduces every sport ever played on any continent in the entire history of the world (yes, even Quidditch) into one witty comedy.

The Complete Works of Sports (abridged) will be performed Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N, Edmonds. Tickets are available online at www.ec4arts.org or by phone at (425) 275-9595. Ticket are $35-$40, $15 for youth.
