No Surprise: Ferry the Top Image in "Essentially Edmonds" Contest

Winners will be announced Oct. 20.

The winners of the "Essentially Edmonds" photo contest will be announced Oct. 20 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Edmonds Plaza Room at the Edmonds Library, 650 Main St.

The public is invited to attend the event, sponsored by the City of Edmonds Arts Commission and the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation.

Photogs 18 and older were invited to of what they believe captures the essence of Edmonds, the places and people that make Edmonds a special community to live in and visit.

The most frequently featured subject? Not surprisingly, the ferry.

Thirty-two people entered 73 photographs.

Entries will be exhibited via slide show at a public reception during the Edmonds Third Thursday Art Walk. Photographs entered in the contest are all eligible to be featured on the new City of Edmonds website, and all of the photos will be added to the Edmonds Museum photo archives.

Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation-sponsored awards include a $200 for first place and $100 for second place. There are also two $50 honorable-mention awards.
