Letter to the Editor: Protest "Almost Live"

Local TV personality Pat Cashman explains in detail why he will be 'protesting' the upcoming show at One Eyed Jack's in Lynnwood.

A Letter to the Editor

My name is Pat Cashman, and I am a longtime resident of Washington. When I say "longtime" I mean length of time, not width. While I have made a career working in the television and radio industries, I have always been frightened by both---due to the risk of electrical shock. I'm also scared of  loud music made from guitars and drums. But the reason I am writing has to do with the upcoming "comedy" show at One Eyed Jacks in Lynnwood on Saturday June 29th with Brooks McBeth, John Keister and special guests. Notice that I put quotes around the word comedy, because their brand of it could lead to the downfall of our great community. I do not believe I am overstating that.

Everyone knows that real comedy is found on Popsicle sticks and inside Bazooka Joe wrappers, not from people like this that talk about naughty things. I have also noticed that this show takes place at 9:00 p.m. which is three hours later than my proposed curfew for the Seattle area.

In my view, Lynnwood was designed for uplifting arts, such as symphony music, Shakespearean stagings---and, of course, the Celtic Thunder. If venues are now being used to showcase the blue humor of McBeth and Keister, maybe Lynnwood should just tear these type of places down and use the property for parking.

That's why I urge everyone reading these words: Please don't tell people to go to http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/392838 for tickets that are going fast, for reasons that elude me. I plan on protesting out in front of One Eyed Jacks the night of the event. I will be lying down on the sidewalk right at the entrance---so if you are planning to attend, please don't wear stiletto heels.

Sincerely,
Pat Cashman
