Shoreline Concert Band, Shoreline Singers & Jazz Groups perform "Tutti"

For the first time ever Shoreline Community College's jazz bands, choirs and the Shoreline Concert Band perform together on one stage.

This is the musical term for “together” and that’s what’s special about the concert. March 13 will be the first time the SCC major performing groups – Concert Band,
Jazz Ensemble and Shoreline Singers – have ever performed a concert together. Each group brings its own style of musical literature to the concert. We hope
the audience will be a blend of people who like each of these styles of music.

Dr. Fred Lokken directs the Singers, Paul Harshman is the new director of the Jazz Group. Both of these men are respected greatly for their teaching and conducting abilities. Mr. Harshman is currently the band director
at Lakeside and was previously the Director of Bands at Shorewood High School.

The concert band has also invited this year’s All-State high
school musicians from our two local high schools to perform with the band on one selection. This annual event brings the top band musicians to our campus and is
the way we can honor these outstanding players from Shorecrest and Shorewood high schools.

The music of the Concert Band will feature well known
selections such as the “Overture for Band” by Felix Mendelssohn and one of Dvorark’s Slavonic Dances. Music for everyone is our theme at this concert and we hope to please all music lovers. Come give this concert a try, you might like it!

The concert will be performed at the Mountlake Terrace High School Theater which is located at 21801 - 44th Ave. W. in Mountlake Terrace
