Crows, Owls, Hummingbirds, and Trees

Gallery North radiates with color and fun this month with our featured artist Kathleen A. Johnson and her wonderful collection of acrylic paintings titled Crows, Owls, Hummingbirds and Trees. Her love of these favorite subjects is evident in her paintings.

“Something is sparked in me when I encounter my natural subjects, and I seek to express that feeling in my art,” explains Kathleen.

An Edmonds-based artist, Kathleen is sometimes called “the crow lady” because crows are often featured in her paintings. Her business, Two Crows Studio, is even named for her love of these intelligent animals.

“I have always had an interest in birds, particularly crows; I feel that they help keep humans in touch with nature,” she says. “You can learn a lot about what’s going on in your neighborhood by listening to crows.”

The public is invited to meet the artist at two special events during May: the artist reception for Kathleen A. Johnson on May 6th from 1-4 pm and a reception during the Edmonds Third Thursday Art Walk, on May 17th from 5-8 pm.
