A Taste of Edmonds

A Taste of Edmonds is always one of the most entertaining festivals of the summer. With outstanding local and national talent on three stages, as well as numerous roving artists, everyone in the family can enjoy a fun-filled weekend of dance, music and more.

The highlight of this year’s Main Stage is a well-known national touring band, The Smithereens. Playing original songs as well as covers of popular hits, this New Jersey-based rock band has been performing since 1980. The Smithereens made a name for themselves with tunes like “A Girl Like You” and “Blood and Roses,” as well as their catchy renditions of Beatles’ hits and other favorites. For those who enjoy a mellower sound, Wyndham Hill artist Scott Cusso and classical jazz guitarist Scott Lindenmuth will also be on the Main Stage, which is adjacent to the wine garden.

The Beer Garden Stage is always a popular choice for festival-goers and this year’s line up will not disappoint. Come and dance to the music of Randy Hansen’s Jimi Hendrix tribute, Whiskey River’s Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute, The Rhythm Nation and The Beatniks, among many others.

Kids at A Taste of Edmonds can enjoy their very own stage. This year’s entertainment includes returning favorites Buck & Elizabeth, Reptile Isle and Tim Noah, along with a host of fun, hands-on activities in the kids’ area.

Presented by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, the 2011 A Taste of Edmonds festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Aug. 12 and 13, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 14. All activities take place at Civic Playfield, located at 310 6th Ave. N. in Edmonds. Pets are not permitted at the festival. Free parking and a free shuttle service will be offered from Edmonds-Woodway High School.

Admission is $3 for adults. Kids age 12 and under are free.
