Edmonds' 'Crow Lady' Brings Her Art to Gallery North in May

Edmonds-based artist Kathleen A. Johnson is featured this month at with her collection of acrylic paintings titled "Crows, Owls, Hummingbirds, and Trees." 

“Something is sparked in me when I encounter my natural subjects, and I seek to express that feeling in my art,” she says.

Johnson is sometimes called “the crow lady” because crows are often featured in her paintings. Her business, Two Crows Studio, is even named for her love of these intelligent animals.

“I have always had an interest in birds, particularly crows; I feel that they help keep humans in touch with nature,” she says. “You can learn a lot about what’s going on in your neighborhood by listening to crows.”

The public is invited to meet the artist at two special events during May: the artist reception for Kathleen A. Johnson on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. and a reception during the Edmonds Third Thursday Art Walk on May 17 from 5-8 p.m.
