Edmonds Center for the Arts Has Not Moved to Seattle

Comedy and variety show says it's coming to the Edmonds Center for the Arts on Fourth Avenue North in Seattle.

The is staying put.

It's common for national touring shows and groups with Puget Sound on their schedules to list Seattle on their itineraries if their performances aren't actually in the Emerald City—musicians coming to at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville do it frequently, for example.

But the Popovich Comedy Pet Theater may have taken it a bit too far.

A postcard annoucement, which can be found at various locations in Edmonds and around Snohomish and King counties, advertises the show as taking place at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. It even spells out the address: 410 Fourth Ave. N.

But the city? It's Seattle.

A minor issue, for sure. But it is a bit confusing: It could be that the show is sponsored by the ECA but taking place at this Fourth Avenue location in Seattle. With anyone make that mistake? Probably not.

Popovich Comedy Pet Theater does correctly lists Edmonds as the show's venue on its website.

The show? It's a family oriented blending of comedy and juggling by Gregory Popovich and the talents of his performing pets. Each of the show's 15 cats and 10 dogs were once strays, rescued from animal shelters.

It sounds like a cool and funny show. And, better yet, you don't have to travel down to Seattle to see it.

We think.

No, we're sure.

The Popovich Comedy Pet Theater will be performing Nov. 5 at 3 and 7 p.m. at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N, Edmonds. Tickets are $30, $22 for those 17 and under. For tickets, go to ec4arts.org or call 425/275-9595.
