On Thursday evening during the monthly Edmonds Art Walk, local artist Freeda Lapos Babson met with a local Camp Fire troop. The group is called the Tie Dyed Tigers and is made up of boys and girls age five to seven from Westgate Elementary School.

The children visited Babson at the Edwards Jones office on Main Street, which is where her work will be displayed all month. Babson showed the kids how she creates her mixed media pieces, which include acrylic paint, fabric, pieces of jewelry, paper, stone, wood, ceramic, plastic, watches, metal, pages torn from books, scrabble letters, Milagros, and coins.

"The kids were adorable," Babson said. "They were so interested in how the paintings were done.
