Driftwood Players Announce Auditions for Show Centered on 2 Gay Men

"Lonely Planet" will be performed March 1-4 in Edmonds.

will hold auditions for Lonely Planet, a production on the theater's alternative stage.

Lonely Planet, by Steve Dietz and directed by Mike Jones, centers on two gay men who ponder death and friendship. The theater describes it as "celebrating the improbable ties that bind us together ... a fanciful, sensitive look at what it means to have lived.

The theater is looking for two men in the 30s to 40s. You should prepare a two-minute, contemporary monologue and bring a picture and resume.

The audition is Jan. 14 at 1 p.m. at the Driftwood administrative office (lower level of Bank of America building), 306 Main St., Edmonds.

Performances are 8 p..m. March 1 through March 3 and 2 p.m. March 4.

The theater's next production is a spotlight on new local playwrights. The Peregrine Sonata, by Amanda Aikman, centers of five very different women who struggle through their work, passions and art to create a better world. It will be presented Jan. 13-15 at 8 p.m.
