Celtic Harpist/Vocalist Orla Fallon at Edmonds Center for the Arts on Friday

The popular musician is now recording with some of the biggest names in music.

Celtic harpist and vocalist Orla Fallon takes the stage Friday at the .

Hailing from County Wicklow in Ireland, Fallon credits her late grandmother for instilling in her an abiding love of Irish music and traditional culture.

A winner of The International Feis Ceoil and International Pan Celtic Competition on two occasions, Fallon has recorded with legendary Irish group Clannad, as well as the choral group Anuna, before releasing her debut album. The Water is Wide premiered in the Billboard World Music Top Ten in the U.S.

Fallon toured extensively in Europe, Africa and North America before being invited to join Celtic Woman for the group’s inaugural show in September 2004.

During her time with Celtic Woman, the group held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard World Music Charts for a record-breaking 95 consecutive weeks with their first three albums.

Since leaving the group, Fallon has released two solo albums and a DVD, My Land, which was recently featured on PBS.

“I never imagined in a million years,” says Fallon on her website, “that I would have been seen on public television over 14,000 times, have been a part of group that has sold more than four million CDs and DVDs, and now as a new solo artist, being on stage with the likes of The Dubliners and the amazing David Archuleta from American Idol. And recording with Grammy Award winners Vince Gill and Moya Brennan, all within the same year.”
