Can You Spot the Surprises in Hazel Miller Plaza Mosiac?

Color and texture are emerging as a mosaic designed to go on the wall at the south end is being installed this week at at Old Milltown in Edmonds.

The design was created by Rivenworks Mosaics to echo the circular motif in the hard surface of the plaza.

The complex color palette plays off the theme established in the , and the earthy colors in the stone fountain by Richard Hestekind. 

Composed of 10,000 individual pieces of varying shapes and textures, the mosaic materials include commercial porcelain tile, hand-thrown high fire ceramics, glass tiles, marbles, stained glass, recycled glass tile, 24-carat gold-leafed glass and polished stones.
