Raise the Curtain: Shows in Edmonds

Don't miss out on these upcoming shows in Edmonds!

Jan. 7.  "The Tourist" with Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp is coming to The Edmonds Theater.  With three Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Picture, don't miss the limited run at your local theater.  Call 425-778-4554 for more information.

Jan. 9.  The Edmonds United Methodist Church is hosting eight-piece Celtic band Drom Aluinn as a part of their benefit concert series.  The band's set will include traditional Celtic ballads and pub songs.  The suggested donation is $20.  Tickets will be available at the door or by calling 425-778-2119.

Jan. 29.  Scottish singer-songwriter and folk musician Al Stewart will be performing at the Edmonds Center for the Arts.  His unique style combines folk-rock songs with tales of great events and people of history, and he was influential with the British folk revival of the 60s and 70s.  Show starts at 7:30 p.m., tickets $30-$35.  Call the box office at 425-275-9595 to purchase tickets.

Feb. 4.  The Driftwood Players will begin their 2011 season with The Miracle Worker on its main stage.  Based on the true story of Helen Keller, it follows her journey with help from tutor Anne Sullivan to learn to communicate.  Heart-warming and inspiring, this play will remind you of the courage of the human spirit.  Show times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.  General admission is $20.  Call 425-774-9600 for details.

Feb. 5.  The fourth annual Edmonds Comedy Night will be bringing laughter to Edmonds.  This show raises money for various programs at Terrace Park School.  Featured local comedians are Kermet Apio, Nancy Reed, Auggie Smith and Dwight Slade.  Show begins at 7:30 p.m. for $25.  VIP tickets are available for $55 and include a reception at 6 p.m. with food provided and two drink tickets.  Call 425-275-9595 for more information.
