Please Welcome Liv Finne, Our Newest Blogger

Do you have an opinion, experience, or passion you'd like to share? We welcome you to blog about it on Patch through our Local Voices section.

This week Edmonds Patch welcomed Liv Finne, Director for Education Reform at Washington Policy Center, as its newest blogger.

The center supports "reforms to give parents more choices, to give school principals more autonomy and reponsibility, to give teachers more freedom to teach, and to improve schools for children," she wrote.

In her first post, Washington Charter School Commission holds its first meeting, Finne wrote about the first gathering of the new nine-member state Charter School Commission, and noted that the deadline for school districts to file applications to become charter school authorizers is rapidly approaching.

Want to blog on Patch, too?

Edmonds Patch is looking for bloggers who’d like to share their local knowledge, personal expertise, political opinions, or hobbies. We want bloggers who can have readers walk away feeling challenged, inspired, happy, sad or further educated on a particular subject. Photo and video blogs are also encouraged!

Keep in mind that this is not a reporting gig. There’s no need to be a published author or someone who needs to be told what to write about. We want you to write about what you want and when you want.

Blogging on Patch is just one more way you can get involved with your community and spark important discussion. So, start a blog on Edmonds Patch today! Have questions about blogging? Email Community Editor Jenny Manning at jenny.manning@patch.com.
