Petanque Club Tournament Provides Assist to Edmonds Food Bank
The Edmonds Food Bank is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
The Edmonds Petanque Club has announced that its tournament last month to benefit the Edmonds Food Bank was a big success.
The tournament, and the help of numerous local business sponsors, helped the club fill a truck with food valued at about $600. In addition, the group donated a check for $941.
The Edmonds Food Bank, celebrating its 30th anniversary, serves more than 1,500 people each week. It is open seven days a week and staffed by more than 110 volunteers.

The food bank, at 828 Caspers St., is officially known as the Carol Rowe Memorial Food Bank and is affiliated with the Edmonds United Methodist Church.
The petanque club has three courts at Edmonds Civic Center Playfield.
