Laughing to Raise Funds for Terrace Park K-8 School

4th Annual Edmonds Comedy Night, the Terrace Park fundraiser, is coming to the Edmonds Center for the Arts on Feb. 5.

Edmonds Comedy Night debuts at Edmonds Center for the Arts early next month.

The event moved to the larger venue for 2011 because of its growth over the past four years, said Beckie Peterson, PTA member and co-coordinator of this year’s event. Peterson credited Comedy Night's success to the leadership of comedian, co-coordinator and parent Kermet Apio.

Apio is well-known on the comedy scene and has been able to bring together very successful comedians for this annual comedy night fundraiser. The comedic talent helped bring in audiences far beyond the parent community of Terrace Park. A description of the comedians, as well as video clips of their style, can be found on the event's website.

Proceeds from Edmonds Comedy Night will go to the Terrace Park K-8 PTA. This year’s funds are focused on the arts and anti-bullying education.

While it is a school fundraiser, the event is definitely for adults. Peterson said Comedy Night content goes from “PG-13 to R,” if she had to rate it.
