Edmonds' American Brewing Wins Gold at First-Ever Washington Beer Awards

More than 400 beers from nearly 70 Washington breweries were judged in the contest.

American Brewing's "Power Play" is good as gold, according to judges in the first-ever Washington Beer Awards.

The winning breweries were announced Saturday at the Washington Brewers Festival in Redmond. More than 400 beers from nearly 70 Washington breweries were evaluated by 40 judges in a blind taste test, held May 18 at Elliott Bay Public House & Brewery in Seattle.

Edmonds' American Brewing took home two medals in the contest. Its "Power Play" brew won gold in the Strong Ales category, and "Stupid Sexy Flanders" received a bronze medal among Sour Beers.
