Brackett's Landing North Parking Lot Will be Closed for a Month

Popular lot for divers will be closed from Oct. 25 to Nov. 23 for BNSF utility work and preparation for a second track. The park's pathway will remain open.

The parking lot at is one of the best spots in town to park and enjoy the beauty of Puget Sound. The lot is also used by divers exploring the popular Edmonds Underwater Park.

But, beginning next week, drivers and divers will have to park elsewhere.

Because of work by Burlington North Santa Fe, the lot will be closed from Oct. 25 through Nov. 23, according to Robert English, city engineer for Edmonds. Work will include preparation of a second railroad track.

Although the parking lot will be closed, the walkway within the park will remain open. 

BNSF will be completing utility work at the company’s railroad crossing at Main Street. The work will include the installation of new stormwater and water utility crossings beneath the railroad tracks.

BNSF workers will also be reconstructing its track across Main Street.
