Dress Up That Dog: Halloween Howl Is Oct. 20 at Off-Leash Park in Edmonds

Celtic Cowboy BBQ will provide food for both humans and dogs at the eight annual event.

Bark at the beach.

The eighth annual Off-Leash Area Edmonds Halloween Howl is set for Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the off-leash park just south of Marina Beach at 498 Admiral Way.

(See pictures of last year's winners.)

There will be pet-friendly vendor booths, silent auction, raffle, and the always-popular doggie costume contest. Judging for the costume contest is at 1 p.m.

There will be prizes for most original, funniest, best homemade costume and best owner and dog combination.

Some incentive: All entrants will take home a bag of doggie treats!

Celtic Cowboy BBQ of Edmonds will set up its mobile barbecue outside of the park. It will also sell smoked dog bones, with $1 from each bone going to O.L.A.E.

Edmonds Animal Control will again attend Halloween Howl to answer questions, and let citizens tour the Animal Control vehicle. As a community service, O.L.A.E. will pay for all new and early renewal City of Edmonds dog licenses.

O.L.A.E. is a nonprofit organization that provides the continued support and stewardship to the only designated off-leash dog beach in Edmonds. If you or your business is interested in being a vendor or donating, please e-mail o.l.a.e@comcast.net or visit www.olae.org.
