Edmonds' Puget Sound Bird Fest Looking for Artists to Design Poster
The eighth annual event is Sept. 7-9 on the shores of Puget Sound.
Are you an artist? Love birds? Here's your chance for a high-profile gig.
Puget Sound area artists are invited to submit original artwork representative of Puget Sound birdlife to be used on the eighth annual Puget Sound Bird Fest poster for promotion of the event in Edmonds Sept. 7-9.
The poster format is 11” X 17.”

A $200 prize, sponsored by Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation, will be awarded to the winner. No photography will be accepted.
Entries will be judged by one judge from each of the following: Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation, Edmonds Arts Commission and Puget Sound Bird Fest steering committee.

Those entering must be 18 or older, and there is a limit of one entry per person. Entries must be received by May 25, 2012.
The winner will be announced June 11.

The festival's Friday evening keynote speaker will be Paul Bannick, a bird and nature photographer. Bannick's book book The Owl and the Woodpecker was selected as one of the five finalists for the 2009 Washington State Book Awards in the General Non-Fiction category.
More recently, Paul finished first among professional photographers in the category of Birds and Their Habitat in the 2011 Audubon Magazine Photography Awards, with his photo of a Northern Pygmy Owl.
