The annual event is sponsored by the SnoKing Chapter of Puget Sound Anglers.

Who hooked the $5,000 grand prize at the Edmonds Coho Derby on Saturday?

A 10-year-old.

Essix Kelly of Richmond Beach caught the 11 pound, 8.16 ounce coho at 7 a.m., according to the Seattle Times. The fish was swimming about 750 yards off the Edmonds Marina breakwater when she caught it, the story said.

The annual event is sponsored by the SnoKing Chapter of Puget Sound Anglers.

Proceeds from the event have gone to support organizations and events such as Kids' Fish-in Events and the Everett Derby for The Blind.
