Call to Artists: 2014 Edmonds Arts Festival Poster Artist

The Edmonds Arts Festival, a three-day fine art and crafts event held each year on Father’s Day weekend, is now accepting applications to be the 2014 poster artist. Artists eighteen and older are invited to submit the following: a letter of interest, up to five small samples of his or her artwork (no websites or slides; color photocopies are fine), and a résumé. These submissions should be mailed to: Poster Committee, Edmonds Arts Festival, PO Box 212, Edmonds, WA 98020. Deadline for applications is August 15, 2013.

All forms of medium are welcome; entries must translate well to paper and a two-dimensional art piece. All entries will be judged by a committee of five jurors which includes local arts professionals and Festival directors.

The jurors will select the top finalist(s) for an interview to discuss possibilities for the poster. Those artists will be encouraged to submit sketches and/or concept ideas for committee review. Once the interviews are completed, the committee will select the artist for 2014.

Artists are paid $1,500 for the artwork and all rights to the artwork that they create for the Edmonds Arts Festival. The art will appear on the promotional Festival poster and on Festival Store merchandise. The original will be added to the poster art collection of the Edmonds Arts Festival Museum.
