Suspected Intruder Shot Dead Identified as 26-Year-Old Edmonds Resident

Kenneth Richard Talley died from multiple gunshot wounds to the head and torso.

A suspected intruder allegedly shot and killed by a homeowner in Esperance on Tuesday has been identified by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner as 26-year-old Kenneth Richard Talley of Edmonds.

Talley died from multiple gunshot wounds to the head and torso. The examiner's office ruled it a homicide.

Talley was employed by Allied Building Products in Edmonds.

Talley was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting in the 8900 block of 225th Place Southwest, which is in unincorporated Snohomish County just east of Edmonds city limits.

Deputies from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the house after receiving a 911 call shortly after 8 p.m.

Detectives from the Sheriff's Major Crimes Unit are investigating the shooting. The case will be forwarded to the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney to determine if the homeowner was justified in shooting the suspected intruder.

The homeowner has not been identified.
