Il Buffone Closing After Three Months?

Popular Edmonds restaurant is locked up and its website says "So long, and thanks for all the fish!"

Potential customers were surprised Tuesday night when stopping by Il Buffone as the restaurant, normally open for business at 4 p.m., was closed.

A check of the restaurant’s website shows only a heart and a message: “So long, and thanks for all the fish!”

Il Buffone specialized in pasta and wood-fired pizza.

It was back on March 3 that owner Michael Young opened Il Buffone, at 107 Fifth Ave. N. He had closed the previous restaurant at the location, called Olives Café & Wine Bar, a week earlier. He also owned Olives.

Although the restaurant had a new name for almost three months, the restaurant’s sign has never changed from “Olives.”

Young also owns The Winged Pig, a bar and restaurant at 203 Fifth Ave. S.
