Got an Idea? Design the Edmonds Arts Festival Poster, Win $1,500

There was no poster this year, so next years will be much anticipated.

Artists have until August 1, 2012 to enter the Edmonds Arts Festival 2013 poster competition.

(There was no official poster this year. It's been a fundraising effort for the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation, which donates much of festival proceeds to scholarships and education.)

Artists 18 and older are invited to submit a letter of interest, up to five small samples of artwork (no Web sites or slides; color photocopies are fine), and a résumé to: Poster Committee, Edmonds Arts Festival, PO Box 212, Edmonds, WA 98020.

All forms of medium are welcome; entries must translate well to paper and a two-dimensional art piece. All entries will be judged by a committee of five jurors.

The jurors will select the top finalists for an interview to discuss possibilities for the poster. Those artists will be encouraged to bring sketches and/or concept ideas to show to the committee. Once the interviews are completed the committee will select the artist for 2013.

Artists are paid $1,500 for the artwork and all rights to the artwork that they create for the Edmonds Arts Festival. The art will appear on the promotional festival poster, on merchandise and on apparel items. The original will be added to the poster art collection of the Edmonds Arts Festival Museum.
