Goodwill in Edmonds: More Than 200 Shoppers in Line for Store's Opening

The Puget Sound's 21st retail location had shoppers lined up for its grand opening on Thursday. New Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling participates in his first ribbon cutting.

Goodwill Industries, a nonprofit organization that offers social services but is best known for its retail thrift stores, opened for business in Edmonds on Thursday and welcomed more than about 200 people waiting in line.

Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling, , conducted his first ribbon cutting shortly before the store, which employs up to 50 people, opened its doors at 9 a.m.

Goodwill employees and local officials applauded while shoppers streamed through the doors. Among those attending were City Councilman Steve Bernheim and City Councilman-elect Frank Yamamoto.
