J-J-J-Jittery: 7-11 Serving Free Coffee on Thursday for National Coffee Day

Promotion is from 7 to 11 a.m, of course. Krispy Kreme is also playing along.

7-11 stores nationwide will serve free coffee on Thursday for four hours.

Can you guess the hours? From 7 to 11 a.m., duh.

Why the promotion? Well, it is National Coffee Day (or National CofFREE Day, as 7-11 is calling it) on Thursday. And, of course, 7-11  is hoping those who take advantage of the free java might pick something else up while they're getting their morning jolt.

The promotion is for a medium hot coffee. There are two 7-11s in Edmonds: 21109 76th Ave. W near Edmonds-Woodway High, and 8101 238th St. SW near Safeway on Highway 99.

Another store offering free coffee Thursday is Krispy Kreme, which will let you fill up a 12-ounce cup. The closest to Edmonds is 12505 Aurora Ave N, near North 125th Street.

Starbucks is not getting into the spirit of National Coffee Day, but does frequently have its "Treat Receipt" special, where you use a morning receipt for an, um, afternoon treat.

Tully's is also not involved.
