Edmonds' Only Liquor Store Closing
Store says it cannot compete with other retailers. All items now 20 percent off.
Edmonds Liquor & Wine, Edmonds' only liquor store, plans to close by the end of the month.
Owner Gurvinder Mander, who opened his doors in June, says he cannot compete with discounts offered to bigger retail outlets that now offer liquor. It was last November that Washington voters approved Initiative 1183, the second attempt in two years to close state liquor stores and open them up to private enterprise.
Gurvinder was due to speak at an Edmonds Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting on No. 14.

All items in the store, located at Westgate in the QFC shopping center, are now 20 percent off.
