Edmonds Man Appointed Business Rep by Machinists Union

Jason Redrup represents the interests of roughly 2,500 Machinists Union members working for the Boeing Co. in Everett.

Jason Redrup of Edmonds has been appointed as Business Representatives for Machinists Union District Lodge 751, based in Everett.

In his new roles, he represents the interests of roughly 2,500 Machinists Union members working for the Boeing Co. in Everett.

Before becoming a business rep, Redrup was an IAM Work Transfer Representative in Everett, charged with proposing alternatives to convince Boeing to keep work in-house instead of outsourcing it.

Redrup is one of two recently appointed Machinists Union business reps in Everett. Rich McCabe, who had previously been an IAM work transfer rep in Renton, was named to an Everett business rep position in March.

Originally formed in 1935 to represent hourly workers at the Boeing Co., District Lodge 751 of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers now represents more than 31,500 working men and women at 48 employers across Washington, Oregon and California

In December, District 751 members ratified a four-year contract extension with Boeing that ensured the 737 MAX will be built in Puget Sound.
